Lookbook: The Launch Collection

This vest. With this blouse. I can’t even handle it. I love it so much because we have paired a very feminine, lacy, sort of Edwardian top with a more Western, more masculine suede vest. And then we top it off with the urban dark denim. Yes and yes. This look is balanced and also has depth and variety of textures and styles that all work together to create a really modern, interesting but not outrageous look.

“Firsts” have a special way about them. Your first day of school. Your first kiss. Your first job.

This collection has a special place in my heart, because it’s the world’s first time to meet Zelda Bea. Therefore, I wanted to use models who were friends and family to add extra meaning and so people could see what this collection looks like on a variety of shapes ands sizes.

I’ve always been inspired by historic castles, and I wanted this collection to have the warmth and grit of the British countryside but encrusted in the glam of a gold filigree.

To achieve this, I chose a mix of wow and wear-with-everything pieces so you could shop and love the collection regardless what end of the style spectrum you are on. And now, I present to you the Zelda Bea Launch Collection!

This camo jacket is supremely special because it’s one of a kind and features a large floral embroidered applique, hand sewn by yours truly. In fact, it was the vision for customizing these camo jackets that inspired me to launch Zelda Bea in the first place. I have only embellished 4 camo jackets to date, and this is the first to be released, as part of the Fall 2020 launch collection.

When I saw this piece, I literally gasped and ran over to it. I’m pretty sure people were looking. Totally. Worth it. This fully beaded piece is so fabulous. I love it with white jeans but also would love to see someone rock it around the holidays with some black faux leather leggings. I also wore it in our promo video with jeans and felt so glam.

Texture, texture, texure. Mixing textures can be tricky but when done right, it really is such a luxe look. Here, we combine the soft cashmere ivory sweater with a highly textured thick wool skirt. Then, we top it off with a vintage mink shawl that is absolutely divine and a true heirloom piece. Finally, we added a touch of metallic with the gold braided belt to give this matte look real dynamic range.

This fall, I am HERE for the embellished sweaters. This one is so fabulous and would be so cute paired with an effortless messy bun, some distressed vintage jeans and loafers or white tennis shoes.
